Landsforeningen Norske Malere - The Association of Norwegian Painters

The Association of Norwegian Painters (abbr. LNM) was founded in 1968 to work for the advancement of artists rights and working conditions and futher to facilitate, present and promote the diversity of expression in the pictorial field.

Today the association has over 600 members, working within, or in relation to, the field of painting, with their origin, education or place of production in Norway.

LNM is artist run by our elected board, consisting of four members and one chairman. The members and chair are elected for periods of three years by our national convention.

LNM supports and operates the gallery "Galleri LNM" in Oslo. The gallery functions on a non-commercial basis and produces 11 exhibitions per year.

Applications for membership to LNM is received throughout the year and is juried twice a year. Applications for exhibition space is received and juried once a year, with the deadline usually being in the beginning of september. The jury will in all instances consist of our board and manager of LNM/Gallery LNM.
